Today’s Paper

Does 007 Hold Up 128 Days Later? Yes. Yes It Does.

Aspecticor submits his review of 007 First Light’s support 4 months later.

★★★★★ Like Nothing Else.

When I started stream on Thursday and saw the new patch, I knew IOI had the perfect vision for their Bond title.

The moment I opened the game and found out there was a genuine New Game+ mode I was elated, giving us the extremely helpful chance to swap gadgets and suits on a whim has made replaying the campaign even more worth it than it was before!

The new additions to the wonderfully worthwhile TacSim are amazing as well. Very rarely do games challenge players like the new ‘Valhalla Protocol’ missions, and it was well worth the start menu screen hype.

IOI’s dedication to polishing this title is above all else the most respectable. Some may consider their patching of exploits speedrunners use to be hostile, but I personally I believe it to be another genius move of game design. Fluidly challenging runners to adapt to their fixes keeps us rewarded for every solution we find, even knowing our discoveries will be removed later. There’s a reason that Sisyphus game was so popular on Twitch.

The Hitman live-service model has transferred perfectly to 007 First Light, and I am excited to stream this game more in the future!
